Science has shown that not only spending time in nature but connecting to individual plants, animals, rocks, the moon…changes our physiology. Stress hormones are decreased and relaxation hormones are increased, blood pressure is decreased and a sense of wellbeing expands with every nature visit, reversing Nature Deficit Disorder. A deep nature connection also deepens our connection with ourselves and others creating a stronger sense of community with all beings.
The Cultivating Deep Nature Connection methods I use are from indigenous and spiritual cultures from around the world. They are learned in a group experience, with meditations, feeling the heartbeat of Mother Earth, Mother Earth + Father Sky Qi Gong, celebrations, exercises done walking and sitting at various times of the year to honor the seasons and our place with them in our lives.
